Lady luck must have been on my side as I was blessed with many kind offerings in the second half of June. I saved substantially mainly from meals. Not only that they were free, they were gastronomically satisfying as well. Ain’t my tummy happy? lol.. Heck I even won a book from a contest by Red.fm which I never intentionally meant to participate.

First off…CHI had small little parties for the Les Mills’ second quarter releases.

CHI is more than just a place to keep fit. From the staff to instructors to the friends that I’ve met, they have all added a personal touch in my life.

Then…for all the sugar rush that kept my glucose level high in the mornings and evenings.

FRHAM even gave gifts to those who volunteered. Free food + gift..man..couldn’t ask for more. What I should have packed more is my favourite spaghetti! Should have packed 5 packs. haha… now now.. I shouldn’t be greedy hor… I miss the lamb too.

Lastly, the books…

Nurse bought me a book entitled Taming The Tiger. Didn’t she know I’m already a tame tiger? haha. Anyway she said it was an impulsive purchase because when she sees the word ‘tiger’ she thought of me. aawwww… The book was signed by the author too, who was there to launch it. Not exactly J.K. Rowling, but thank you so much!

Now here’s a spooky story. Michael Jackson came to visit on his first dead anniversary, in a form of a book! Lol.. Here’s what happened – I was, few weeks ago, went to Red.fm webpage to check out Ally’s review on Ecoba. While at it, I saw some contest links and decided to just check what was on. And since June was the month of MJ’s untimely death, Red.fm was giving away his autobiography, which, according to the cover page, his one and only. Two weeks later, someone called to say that I’ve got it! All it took was a simple question and a sentence that I completed in less than a minute. I don’t even quite remember what I’ve wrote in the ‘complete the sentence’ part anymore. I collected the book on the 25th, the date that MJ died last year.

Johnny’s

Finally I get to try Johnny’s. Next time must remember to boil the eggs before the soup finishes. We forgotten the eggs and had to add soup to do just that! Eggs in steamy bath! Johnny’s is okay…I like the sauce very much though.

T-Bowl

Do I want to eat in the toilet? YES! People are willing to queue to eat here man..but it’s not surprising cause the food is delicious and the price is just right. Look at the food! Yummy!

Ecoba

I’ve wanted to try this place quite a while now. Ecoba is a cool and happening place, even more so during the world cup period. If you’re planning to go, better book first cause it’s always full regardless it is a weekday or weekend. Otherwise if you’re lucky, you’ll still get a seat outside, which is still cool except it could be a little warm. I just couldn’t resist seating on the beany bag and feast like a king. Whuahahaha.

The food is okay.. not bad at all. Price wise, it’s acceptable for a place like this. Take your time to chill and chat with your friends while eating – that’s the way to enjoy Ecoba~

I’d say, the food here is most delicious compared to those above and the price is also very affordable. You’ll just want to order all of them! Two thumbs up!

International Youth Day 2010

IYD 2010 wouldn’t materialized if it wasn’t for a bunch of committed committee members, volunteers and last but not least the officers of Federation of Reproductive Health Associations, Malaysia (FRHAM). IYD is celebrated each year to commemorate the efforts and importance of youth involvement in promoting better awareness in issues surrounding their well-being.

“Young People and Sexuality”, being the theme celebrated by Malaysian youths this year was surely an interesting topic. Youth participation does not only involve the planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation, but by integrating the concept of sustainability via the providence of youth-friendly reproductive health services so that access, availability and affordability in obtaining these services will no longer be the barriers in constructing a comprehensive framework in tune with the global theme – “Sustainability: Our Challenge. Our Future”

We cooperated with FRHAM to educate young people about their sexual and reproductive health rights and responsibilities and encourage youth participation through answering our survey questionnaires and giving their opinions to the issue.

We have also increased awareness related to sexual transmitted infections (STIs) and HIV/AIDS.

We promoted FRHAM’s project on providing youth-friendly sexual and reproductive health related services which include contraceptives, pap smear screening, self-breast examination, self-testicular examination, HIV, abortion referral, clinical advices and counseling.

Loads of fun, heck I even get to see Xiao Yu in person as she was emceeing for an event after ours.

Graduated finally, after 5 years of roller coaster ride. I have a lot of people to thank but most of all I want to thank my parents. As for everyone, thanks for everything. Of Dog, Bday & Booze

It has been such a long time since I truly blog about something. That’s why I’m doing something about it. Not that it’s anything special but nevertheless it’s great to blog again once a while about things that you enjoy so much – that is chillin’ with fantastic friends – and while the Internet connection is still bearable.

At about 12.30pm last Tuesday after lunch in Tronoh, Kelvin, Jesse and I drove down to Ipoh for a casual getaway-from-UTP trip. First destination was a sports shop in town to get Jesse a new racquet because his old one has broken due to a clash with his faithful partner, Kelvin (sound so gay but nvm). We ended spending almost one hour there choosing racquet, getting string done myself and for them both to buy grips, and also help ourselves to some cookies and tea that the shop uncle so generously offer.

After that we went to pick up Aaron at his house. There we met our new friend, Labbie, Aaron’s cute little pet dog. She’s only 2 months old. Absolutely lovely.

Next we rounded up nearby for a nice cendol. Nothing taste better than a bowl of sweetened shaved-ice in the middle of a hot day. Feeling satisfied, we headed next for a movie called “The International” that cost us 6 bucks discounted from our worn out matrix card. After the movie, we became unsatisfied back. You know why? Because there’s not much action in it and more to conspiracy and boring politics. But Naomi Watts was looking very pretty. Can’t say the same for Clive Owen but that’s always his look to look like our matrix cards anyway.

During the movie, an sms came from Kana/Melissa asking where shall we celebrate Jesse’s birthday. Opps. I didn’t know. Kelvin (his faithful partner) didn’t know. Aaron, probably knew but didn’t mention. That was my and Kelvin’s surprise that surpass any point of the movie. Sorry Jesse for not knowing it was your birthday. All was not too late anyhow. After the movie, we met up with Kana, Melissa, Raymond, William, Edrea (wrg spelling i think) and her sister, Erica to dine in 1919 restaurant. The food there was superb and worth every cent we paid.

Not long after the dinner, 4 of us headed back to Aaron’s house for another round of activity, while Kana and the gang went to buy cake and Bacardi Lemon. Their purpose was to get Jesse drunk but somehow, Aaron and I were the most affected by alcohol. That was really unnecessary, Kana. In between drinks we played murderer, big fish-small fish, switch-name game, bang-bang game, and best of all truth-or-dare.

I have to say it is really hard to kiss another guy if you’re not gay. Not even when you’re partially intoxicated. Not even when you try to imagine that he has the quality of Jessica Alba.

It will never work. Yuck. Next, I was dared to kiss Aaron’s smelly toe. When I was nearly there to gently nick it, he yanked it into my mouth. Double yuck.

Shamefully to admit, I puked. Wasted all the nice food that I’ve eaten earlier on. Probably not even half the nutrients were absorbed when they were forcefully jerked out of my stomach. Sad case.

But it was all in good times. It was a wonderful celebration and HAPPY BIRTHDAY JESSE. I wish we could both take this dog away with us… eeee so cute!
